Location

Before going out ask yourself: What tree height and width are best for the area you plan to place your tree?​​
Choosing the right spot for your fresh-cut tree is crucial to keep it looking beautiful throughout the holiday season. Make sure to avoid drafty areas and keep it away from heat sources like vents, fireplaces, and appliances to prevent it from drying out too quickly.

Watering Technique

​Always make a fresh cut of about a 1/2-inch thick disk of from the base of trunk before putting the tree the stand. Remember make the cut perpendicular to the stem axis and avoid cutting the trunk at an angle. This make it easier to hold the tree in the stand and ensure the tree has enough water to thrive.

Ensuring that you are watering your tree daily. It's important to keep in mind that trees need a lot water to thrive. Depending on the type and size of the tree, they can drink as much as four liters of water a day. To ensure your tree healthy, make sure the stand has a large enough capacity to keep the base of the trunk submerged at all times.

Decorating Your Tree

Use lights the produce little to no heat. Using ones with heat can cause your branches to dry out more quickly.
